0

Klass Jan Huntelaar  is set to siscuss his future in the coming weeks, with Liverpool keen to bring the forward to Anfield.

He impressed in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 14 goals in 21 appearances.

And he has carried on his form at the World Cup finals, after scoring a controversial penalty which sent the Dutch through in a 2-1 win over Mexico.

“Regarding the rumours about Liverpool it would only be fair to speak to Schalke first,” he told De Telegraaf.

“I’ve talked with Schalke about an extension for a while. After the World Cup I am having a holiday. Then I will speak to them again.

“With my agent, I now do not talk about the interest from clubs. I focus on the tournament.”

Liverpool view Huntelaar as a proposed replacement for controveraial striker Luis Suarez, who looks to be on his way to Barcelona.

Suarez was banned for four months last month after biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini whilst playing for Uruguay, and has since been sent home in disgrace.

Balotelli move to Arsenal stalled due to poor World Cup

0

Arsenal’s pending transfer of Mario Balotelli will probably not happen due to the player enduring a poor World Cup, according to reports in Italy.

Wenger was keen to bring the Italian striker to Arsenal, but any deal seemed to have stalled over the last week or so.

And according to Gazetta Dello Sport, the move fell apart due to the AC Milan man having a poor World Cup with the national team, claims Silvio Berlusconi, with the chairman had been looking to offload the controversial striker.

Other than Italy, I’m the one who lost at the World Cup,’ Berlusconi is reported to have said.

‘I was selling Balotelli to an English team for several millions, but, after this World Cup, who will buy him now?

‘I was going to sell it to a top English club for 35million [euros], then the deal has stalled.’

Arsene Wenger personally phones Real Madrid star

0

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has stepped up his interest in Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas, after personally phoning the Spaniard to discuss a potential transfer.

The Gunners are in dire need of a goalkeeper after seeing Lukasz Fabianski join Swansea City, and ending Emiliano Viviano’s loan move, which has left the club with just Wojciech Szczesny as a first-team shot-stopper.

As for Casillas, he is interested in a move away from the Bernabeu after suffering a torrid two seasons there under both Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti, which has seen him dropped to the bench.

However, after a dysmal World Cup in Brazil, Casillas’ performances were not of the old-Casillas, and it was thought that his dire showings may prevent him moving away from La Liga and Real Madrid, but it appears that Wenger is still keen on signing the 33-year-old.

According to reports in Spain, Wenger believes this is the right time to persuade Casillas to join Arsenal, and he has phoned the Spaniard directly to discuss a potential deal.

Alexis Sanchez agent drops Arsenal hint?

0

The agent of Alexis Sanchez, Fernando Felicevich, has dropped a major hint that his client could be on his way to Arsenal.

Reports have suggested that talks are already underway between Arsene Wenger and Sanchez’s team, and Felicevich has dropped a major hint that those talks have gone well as he took to social networking site, Twitter, and he started following several Arsenal accounts.

Sanchez’s agent has followed the official Arsenal account, as well as following; Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla and Mikel Arteta.

The Barcelona star is also wanted by Liverpool, but according to reports, the Chilean favours a move to London rather than Merseyside, and after it was suggested that Arsenal are prepared to offer him £130k-a-week, a deal could be in place.

The Gunners are willing to pay around £25million for the 25-year-old, and it’s believed that talks are already underway.

Luis Suarez move to Barcelona could be completed by the Weekend

0

Luis Suarez’s move to Barcelona could be completed before the end of the weekend,

Talks between the clubs are ongoing, with only the fee for the striker’s services the wrangling point.

Liverpool are holding out for £80m for their star forward – a sum that would activate a release clause in his contract – while Barcelona hope to lure him for a figure in the region of £60m.

FIFA have already confirmed that Suarez will be allowed to have a medical ahead of a transfer, despite receiving a four-month ban from football.

The 27-year-old left the World Cup in disgrace after biting opponent Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay’s group defeat to Italy.

But an eventual apology for his latest indiscretion has smoothed the way for a switch to Spain and Barcelona’s sporting director, Andoni Zubizarreta, publicly backed the striker earlier this week.

“Suarez had the honour to come out and apologise for his actions and now it’s time for him to begin the recovery process,” Zubizarreta said.

On Wednesday evening a Liverpool source confirmed: “The talks held today were productive, there are sensible expectations on both sides. Further talks and discussions are to take place, but nothing is finalised as of now.”

Sky Sports’ Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague believes Suarez had to apologise in order to secure his dream move to Barcelona.

“Barcelona wanted Luis Suarez to apologise,” he said. “It is also part of an appeal that will surely reduce his ban.

“I realise many people feel cheated as he has apologised before. Biting shouldn’t be done but can be corrected and Chiellini has accepted the apology, so who are we not to do the same?”

The future of Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez is also believed to remain on the agenda, but it is understood the Chile forward will not be used as a makeweight and that any deal would be brokered separately.

Chelsea make last-gasp offer for Toni Kroos

0

According to reports, Chelsea have made a last-ditch offer to Bayern Munich for midfielder Toni Kroos.

Reports broke yesterday announcing that the German international had sealed a Summer switch to Spanish giants, and European champions, Real Madrid, but it looks like The Blues haven’t given up hope just yet.

It’s believed Jose Mourinho’s side has matched what Madrid have offered Munich, which is said to be around £19.9million, and it’s now up to Kroos himself to decide where he wants to play his football next season.

The Blues have already stated that they’d offer the German a whopping £125k-a-week if he chose Stamford Bridge, and it’s now down to Mourinho to persuade him to join the Premier League, rather than La Liga.

Mark Schwarzer: ‘Fabregas could be Chelsea’s next Frank Lampard’

0

Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has stated that he believes Chelsea newboy Cesc Fabregas could potentially become just as important a player to the South-West London club as recently departed club legend Frank Lampard was.

Schwarzer, 41, in an intervew with talkSPORT stated that ‘it’s a big shame losing someone like Frank Lampard who has been an unbelievable player in the Premier League. He is a world class player and it is a huge loss for Chelsea considering how long he’s been at the club, but he’s obviously looking for another challenge. With Cesc Fabregas, you’re talking about another world class player replacing (Lampard)’.

Fabregas, 27, a regular starter for the Spanish natonal side, recently completed a £27m to Stamford Bridge, where he will link up with another new Spanish signing, Diego Costa of Atletico Madrid. Left back Filipe Luis, deep-lying midfielder Tiago and Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang remain targets for Jose Mourinho, who is looking to fill in the gaps left by the departures of long-serving Ashley Cole and Lampard.

Arsenal eye up £20m Schneiderlin bid

0

Morgan Schneiderlin is currently in Brazil helping France to World Cup glory but he has been at the centre of much speculation since the end of the season.

The Saints midfielder was one of the many stand out performers last season and helped his side to an 8th place finish under Mauricio Pochettino.

New Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has already lost key men Rcikie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw this summer and is determined not to see any more players leave until he finds adequate replacements.

Last season’s Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino has since joined Spurs and could tempt the Frenchman into a move however Napoli are also reportedly interested in acquiring his services.

Ex-Liverpool and Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez is keen on building on his side’s Coppa Italia victory last campaign and will bid a reported £12m for the midfielder.

However the St. Mary’s side are hoping to cash in on Schneiderlin and get around £20m, a price which Arsene Wenger is willing to pay.

The Gunners boss will need to secure a deal fast because pressure on the Frenchman will grow as the transfer window wears on and Schneiderlin may be tempted into a move elsewhere.

It is unlikely however that any further developments will be announced before the end of the World Cup.

Mandzukic being targeted by Arsenal, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid

0

La Liga title holders Atletico Madrid are set to step up their attempts to sign Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic.

The Spanish side have cash to spend after letting Diego Costa leave for Chelsea in a £32 million deal, with Simeone ready to pounce to take him to the Spanish capital.

Reports in both Germany and Spain suggest that Mandzukic wants to quit Bayern Munich this summer, following Bayern’s signing of striker Robert Lewandowski, who signed on a free transfer from Borussia Dortmund.

And both Arsenal and Chelsea are keen to bring the striker to the Premier League.

Wenger sees Mandzukic as a cheaper option to the proposed deal for AC Milan forward Marion Balotelli, a deal which seems to have stalled.

Whilst Mourinho is keen to take the Croat to Chelsea to partner Diego Costa, with Samuel Eto’o having already left the club, whilst Fernando Torres and Demba Ba both look on their way.

Di Maria heading to Man United

0

According to Angel Di Maria’s agent, the Argentinian is heading to Manchester United despite interest from Arsenal and Chelsea. The winger has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid after a fine campaign last season, because of the Galacticos move for James Rodriguez.

Madrid president Florentino Perez is believed to be open to offers in the region of £40m, but because of his World Cup performances, his value is expected to rise. Now, Man United look set to make an offer for the player.

According to Spanish reports, Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent, believes Di Maria will join the Old Trafford side this summer. New boss Louis Van Gaal hasn’t wasted much time adding to the squad, with two deals for Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw completed already for a combined £60m.

The 26-year old is feeling undervalued at Real and he has previously revealed that he will make a decision on his future after the World Cup. Arsenal and Chelsea were both interested as well, but if his agent is correct, then Di Maria will reject those two clubs and sign on for the Red Devils.

Pepe Reina will reject all offers to stay with Liverpool

0

Reina spent last season on-loan at Italian club Napoli, told the media last month that he would not be returning to Merseyside once the deal expired.

However, despite interest from Arsenal, Monaco and PSG, his agent Manuel Garcia Quilon says the goalkeeper will be staying at Anfield after all.

‘I confirm to you that Pepe will play for Liverpool next season,’ Quilon told reporters.

The 31-year-old will now go head-to-head with first-choice Simon Mignolet for the number one jersey next season.

But before his return, he will likely have to apologise to manager Brendan Rodgers, who accused the glovesman of disrespect following comments last season about Liverpool’s goalkeeping situation.

Atletico to loan Lukaku

0

Chelsea outcast Romelu Lukaku looks set to reject the advances of Tottenham and Everton by joining Atletico madrid on loan. Reports from Spain claim that a deal is already in place and that an announcement will be made when Belgium’s part in the World Cup is over.

It is still unclear whether Diego Simeone was given first refusal on the Belgian due to the Blues capture of Diego Costa earlier this week. It would explain the U-Turn from Mourinho who, according to several newspapers, would not send the 21-year old out on another loan deal.

The news of a potential move to La Liga will come as a crushing blow for Everton, who were keen admirers of the forward after his performances for them last season when he was on loan the club. The Toffees were even prepared to potentially offer up to £25m for the striker, but it appears a move to Goodison is now unliekly to happen.

Spurs also became interested because of the lack of top striking power at White Hart lane – Soldado hasn’t had the desired impact, while Adebayor and Harry Kane aren’t the best of strikers. However, a move to them also looks unlikely now.
