8. Alphonse Areola
Paris St-Germain signed goalkeeper Keylor Navas from Real Madrid, with France international Alphonse Areola going the other way on loan. The 26-year-old World Cup winner is under contract with the French side until 2023 and the loan does not include an option to buy.
Areola made 21 league starts last season, with Italian veteran Gianluigi Buffon making 17 before the 41-year-old returned to Juventus in July after one season at the Parc des Princes.
7. Javier Hernandez
Sevilla signed striker Javier Hernandez on a three-year deal from West Ham United worth up to €10 million. The Mexico international had just 10 months remaining on his contract and handed in a transfer request last week.
Hernandez’s Hammers future had been uncertain following the arrival of club record signing Sebastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt in July. West Ham signed Hernandez from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen for €20 million in 2017. The former Manchester United forward made 55 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, scoring 16 goals, including one this season.
