By their standards, Real Madrid sustained a disastrous outing last season. They had to settle for the 3rd place in La Liga. The Champions’ League campaign proved to be even more bitter when they were knocked out by Ajax in the round of 16. The Spanish giants responded by doing some decent business in the transfer market this summer.
They spent over €300 million to lure the likes of Eden Hazard, Eder Militao, Rodrygo, Ferland Mendy, and Takefusa Kubo to the Santiago Bernabeu. In an attempt to rejuvenate the club and bring back the winning ways, Zinedine Zidane was brought back by Florentino Perez to take charge.
Zidane’s tenure has started to show its impact as Real Madrid look to extend their eight-game unbeaten run when they go head to head against Mallorca. The 13-time European champions are yet to taste defeat this season in La Liga. They have managed to gain an advantage of their opponents in 5 out of 7 matches, scoring 16 goals in the campaign.
Real Madrid holds the 1st position in the league table with 18 points from 8 games. Real Madrid once again looks to be among the favorites to win the 2019/20 La Liga title.
