The Austrian GP date and time has been set for 2020. We are all waiting for the 2020 Formula 1 season to kick off in Austria on 5 July at the Red Bull Ring. The Austrian Grand Prix in 2020 is starting off on 5 July. What was supposed to be an opening round in Melbourne, Australia, has been shifted to Austria due to the COVID-19 pandemic. International travel is still widely restricted depending on the countries. Since Formula 1 is such an international sport with all the participants coming from every corner of the globe, it is difficult for the competition to go ahead during these trying times.

Race organizers agreed to a contract with Liberty Media to hold a second race at the same circuit on 12 July. It will be called the Styrian Grand Prix and this will the first time since 1995, a country hosts two consecutive races in one season. Japan last hosted the Pacific and Japanese Grands Prix. This will also be the first time the same track will host back-to-back World Championship races.
