Sky Sports pundit and former Manchester United captain Gary Neville is extremely impressed with his ex-teammate Ole Gunnar Solskajer’s performance so far as the Red Devils’ interim manager.
He said: “Ole has done an incredible job at Manchester United over the last six weeks – far better than I could have imagined. Tottenham was a huge game and are a huge team who we’ve all loved watching. But in that first half, he changed to a diamond and changed the shape. He was bold and took risks and it paid off – that’s what Manchester United is about and he’s delivered brilliantly.”
“Let’s judge it [who should get the full-time United job] at the end of the season – he would want that. The idea that it’s an audition every week for him to get the job is wrong. Personally, I hope he gets the job but from a fan perspective I want Manchester United to appoint the very best person for the job – that could be Ole at the end of the season if he continues to do what he’s doing now.”
United have won all their seven matches under the new coach.
