Antonio Rudiger has slammed Chelsea after their disappointing 1-0 loss against Leicester City.
Chelsea player David Luiz had talked up the Blues title challenge before the match stating that they were still in contention to win the league. However, such talks were further made into a dream with Chelsea’s loss against the Foxes which now sees the Blues sit 11 points behind league leaders Liverpool.
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has slammed his teammates in wake of the pitiful performance against Leicester which saw Sarri lose for the first time at home.
Rudiger said: “It’s a disaster. We don’t talk about the title any more. If we can’t win these games, we can’t compete. We only talk now about top four. Maybe it’s a lack of mentality. Stupid.”
Chelsea are adjusting to a new profile of play under Sarri and nobody has really labelled them as title contenders, especially given the excellent form of run Liverpool and Manchester City are on. The Blues however, are expected to make the top 4 but now sit on level points with Arsenal who are below on goal difference. Chelsea will be expected to string together a run of form over the next few weeks given that they have a rather easy group of opponents until they play Arsenal in the end of January.
