Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has admitted that Tottenham Hotspur are genuine title contenders.
The two sides met on a boxing day match which proved to be a joke of a contest. The North Londoners ran amok the Cherries defence scoring five goals in the process with no response from the Bournemouth team.
The 5-0 humbling at the hands of Pochettino’s men made the Bournemouth boss accept the superiority of the Tottenham team. When asked if Tottenham are title contenders, Howe replied: “Without a doubt. They’ve got the forward players and the creative players that can cause anyone problems. They are in great form and are very clinical – we had equally good chances but didn’t take them.”
Howe’s situation could rather be ironical given the current media rumours. Manchester United recently loss their Jose Mourinho as their boss after the special one was sacked. It has seen rumours fly around for Mauricio Pochettino from Totttenham to take over the hot seat at Old Trafford in the summer for the long run. With Pochettino leaving rumours flying around, it has also thrown around some suggestions that Eddie Howe will be the man to take over from Pochettino should the Argentine leave Spurs next season.
