Sky Sports reports are claiming that former England forward Jermaine Defoe has agreed personal terms with Rangers. The player is due to join the Scottish side on an 18-month loan deal.
It is being reported that the player has agreed personal terms with both clubs giving the nod ahead as well. It is now only subject to a medical which is due to happen over the weekend, according to Sky sources. The player has formerly played for West Ham, Tottenham, Portsmouth and Sunderland in England and has had more than his fair share of success.
Sky Sports reporters believe the move could be great for both Defoe and Rangers. “I spoke to him very briefly earlier and he is well aware that he could become a huge hero at Rangers. There is still work to be done on the deal, but he is very excited. Imagine if he scores the goals that fire Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title. Celtic will have plenty to say about that, I am sure, but what a story for Rangers, what a story for Jermain Defoe and what a story for football in Scotland.”, said Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
