Reasons For Real Madrid vs Barcelona predictions & Betting Tips

Real Madrid are favourites to win El Gran Clasico with odds of 2.20 with bet365. League leaders Barcelona are the outsiders with odds of 3.10 with bet365 to upset the newly crowned world champions.

It’s a game that will go a long way towards deciding the destiny of the La Liga title. Barca are 11 points ahead of Real (six ahead of second placed Atletico), and although the home side have a game in hand, a defeat would surely be too damaging for them to come back from.

There is no love lost between these two great rivals and we’re expecting a thrilling match-up with plenty of goals. Both teams will be motivated, with Barca out to spoil the party after Madrid’s Club World Cup win last week.

Last season, Lionel Messi separated the two teams in this fixture with a last second winner, but Madrid went on to win the title still and got their revenge in the Spanish Super Cup in August.

Since then though, it’s Barca who’s form has been by far the more impressive. Messi has also considerably outshone Ronaldo, despite the latter winning his fifth Ballon d’Or recently.

So many narratives, but ultimately it comes down to 90 minutes on the pitch. We hate to sit on the fence, but it’s really hard to separate the two teams, especially at the Bernabeu.

That’s why we’re predicting a draw for this one at 3.90 with Unibet. One thing we are pretty sure of is that there will be goals, given the quality of attacking players on show. 2-2 looks a good bet at 10.00 with Unibet.

As for first goalscorer, Sergio Ramos is always the man for the big occasion, and a price of 26.0 with William Hill is too good to ignore.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona Form

Real Madrid were recently crowned world champions, although they haven’t enjoyed a great league campaign so far and currently sit fourth. Barca are six points clear of second place Atletico, winning their last match 4-0 against Deportivo.

Real Madrid Form

Spirits will be high in the Madrid camp after they were crowned World Champions for the second year running. With the BBC all fit for once, they will be confident of getting the three points they need to keep the title race alive.

Barcelona Form

Barca are clear at the top of La Liga, currently eleven points ahead of Madrid who have a game in hand. A win in the Bernabeu would surely put them in an unassailable position at least ahead of Zinedine Zidane’s men.
