Okay so this isn’t technically a “Premier League quote” but felt this had to be included. Ronaldo speaking after his fifth Ballon d’Or. What else is there to be said about that quote?
3) Dick Advocaat
“They won’t win 8-0, what a stupid question that is. 8-0? Well, no I don’t believe that”
Another one that isn’t technically a “Premier League quote” but this was too funny not to mention. Netherlands coach speaking about his side’s chances of losing 8-0 in a World Cup qualification game which would knock them out of a World Cup spot. The Dutch were behind second-place Sweden by three points and behind in goal difference by six. When asked what would happen if Sweden beat Luxembourg by eight goals or similar margin, which would make it impossible to qualify regardless of beating Sweden. Unfortunately that’s exactly what happened. Embarrassing.
