After countless rumors and players interested, Inter Miami are reportedly set to sign their first superstar.

Manchester City star midfielder David Silva is “likely to join” Inter Miami at the end of this season, according to latest reports.

Football legend David Beckham extended his relationship with Major League Soccer, when he revealed his new club Inter Miami. The club itself is expected to join the league in 2020 and has already begun laying foundations.

Their search for a marquee player has taken them from Lionel Messi to Edinson Cavani, and now to a Manchester City star. According to a report by the The IndependentManchester City star David Silva is keen on a move to David Beckham’s Inter Miami. Silva has already announced that he will leave the Citizens following the conclusion of the 2019/20 season, with several teams lining up to take him in.

“This is the last one,” Silva said recently when quizzed about his career, “Ten years for me is enough. It’s the perfect time for me. Initially, City were talking about two more years. It completes the cycle. It’s a nice round figure. I can never see myself playing against City for another team.”

David Silva is one of the top players in the English Premier League and was also part of Spain’s World Cup-winning team in 2010. Since arriving at Manchester City from Valencia nine years ago, he led the team to four titles, two FA Cups and four League Cups. He also won two European Championships with Spain in 2008 and 2012.

The reports adds that the former Valencia star is attracted by the idea of becoming Miami’s marquee signing in their inaugural season. It’s highly unlikely that Silva would join another club in the Premier League, as Inter Miami co-owners David Beckham and Jorge Mas have said they were looking for a big-name player who would appeal to South Florida’s largely-Hispanic market.

They also wanted a player with world-class experience, which would make the 33-year-old a perfect fit.
