The hat-trick hero is slowly becoming a rising-star.

Football’s newest superstar Erling Braut Haaland has admitted that he would like to be the man to take over and emulate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The young striker Erling Braut Haaland had a terrific start to his career, with his value hitting the stratosphere after a debut Champions League hat-trick for RB Salzburg recently.

The 19-year-old has emerged as one of the most highly-rated youth prospects across Europe, alongside Jadon Sancho and even Kylian Mbappe. However, unlike the two, Erling Braut Haaland plays in the Austrian Bundesliga for RB Salzburg, flourishing in his first season. So far, the Norwegian striker has managed to net 17 goals in just 10 appearances for the club.

It’s a phenomenal tally for the young striker and if he does continue at this rate, then Haaland will eventually find his way playing for a much bigger side in the near future. But the Norwegian has even bigger hopes, as in an interview, Haaland went on to reveal that he hopes he could one day replace Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“There is something about the way he got good and the way he plays. For me, Zlatan is the biggest. He is from Scandinavia, so someone has to take over from him. I have dreamed of playing for the best clubs in the world my whole life, and I especially like English football,” Haaland told TV2.

The 19-year-old once played under current Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, even bringing the strike to Molde where he was eventually discovered by Salzburg. That proved to be a massive step for the teenager and Haaland went on to reveal, that he credits Solskjaer with a lot of it.

“He has had a huge impact on my life, both as a person and as a trainer. He won the Champions League and was an incredibly good player. He has taught me a lot, he is a fantastic person and a very good coach. He is one of the reasons I am here today.”
