Cavani is set to leave Europe next season as a free agent.

Inter Miami are planning their squad ahead of their debut MLS season in 2020 with the Uruguayan a candidate to make the move to Florida.

There have been several players from Europe who have taken the MLS by storm. Wayne Rooney, Sebastian Giovinco, Kaka, Steven Gerrard, David Villa, Andrea Pirlo, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Nani Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and current MVP favorite Carlos Vela have enjoyed a great deal of success in the United States since moving from established European clubs.

Now Edinson Cavani is bound to put his name in that list, as he looks ready to quit Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season when his contract expires, since Inter Miami have sealed a deal to sign the Uruguayan, reports La Gazetta dello Sport.

The striker has reportedly passed on an emotional return to former side Napoli, after already agreeing a three-year deal to sign for the club spearheaded by David Beckham. The new MLS franchise, who are yet to announce a head coach, will begin their journey in 2020 – and they’re eyeing up a host of ambitious signings.

This is an absolutely huge move for Inter Miami, and, provided the team gels well, it could make David Beckham’s squad early favorites for the MLS Cup. Competition will be stiff from the likes of LAFC, but Cavani is a special goal-scorer who could add a level of consistent class that fans in America have yet to see.

The 32-year-old star is the definition of a complete striker and is coming off of a season in which he deposited 18 goals in 21 appearances for the Ligue 1 champions. Just one year earlier, Cavani had 28 goals, and he also scored 35 times in 2016-2017.
