Bayern Munich will try to find a favorable solution for the unwanted player Renato Sanches.
Lille are reportedly looking at adding Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches to their squad before the end of the transfer window.
The Portuguese international is not believed to be part of Niko Kovac‘s plans for the new season. With Lille back in the Champions League this season, they see a move for Sanches as part of their bid to strengthen the squad, according to L’Equipe.
The Dogues are therefore intent on having salary discussions with the player in the coming days, as talks have also accelerated between the two clubs. The Bavarian side are demanding €30 million including bonuses for the player.
Sanches fined by club after public frustration with squad role
Just few days ago, Sanches expressed his desire to leave the German champions, as he has become frustrated over his lack of game time during his spell at the Bavarian club.
The 22-year-old was on the bench for their season opener against Hertha Berlin on Friday night, and made a late cameo appearance during their disappointing 2-2 draw. After the match, he spoke to Sport1 about his intention to quit the German giants. “Five minutes is not enough. The situation is not good for me, this is the second time I have wanted to leave the club and they have not let me go.”
Sanches was later reportedly fined by the club after venting his frustration in the media. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was furious after this incident. He insisted that Sanches will get opportunities this season, but needs to remain patient.
“Renato is a player who wants to play, of course. I have a bit of understanding. He came three years ago as Golden Boy, a highly decorated Portuguese European champion”, Bayern‘s CEO stated.
Niko Kovac convinced Sanches to stay at Die Roten last summer. The Croatian manager failed to give him playing time last season but promised Sanches he will have a bigger role this season. However, the competition for a place in midfield has increased after the arrival of new players.
