Players Liverpool could buy this summer?

Players Liverpool could buy this summer? Which players could Liverpool buy this summer? Liverpool are just one win away from only their top 4 league finish in the last 7 years.

They took a huge leap towards that goal yesterday after winning 4-0 away at West Ham, and here you can read 5 things we learned from that game.

Of course, a top 4 finish means that those famous Champions League nights will be coming back to Anfield. Many will argue it’s exactly where Liverpool belong, and the money it will bring in will help them compete financially with other big clubs in this summer’s transfer market.

Of course, the money is not just the main carrot for the Champions League. With qualification for Europe’s elite competition, comes a MAJOR selling point when trying to lure players to your club in the summer window. And, with the Reds looking likely to have that to offer ahead of next season, their transfer prospects this summer have just become a whole lot more exciting.

Players who could sign for Liverpool this summer

So, here is our list of players Liverpool could sign this summer. It contains 10 ideal targets for Liverpool that they could look to bring in this summer. Some, they have already been linked with, but others are my opinion on who Liverpool should be targeting.

He is the list of 10 players Liverpool could buy this summer with Champions League football.

10) Julian Brandt

The Levekusen prodigy could be Klopp’s ideal wide target this summer if they can tempt him to England. They may face hefty competition from Bayern Munich for his signature. But that’s the beauty of finishing in the top 4, a Champions League spot allows them to compete with huge clubs such as Bayern in the transfer market. If Jurgen Klopp wants to play Philippe Coutinho in a deeper midfielder role next season, Brandt could be the ideal replacement to start on the left-wing for the Reds.

9) Naby Keita

The RB Leipzig star has thought to have been on the radar of Jurgen Klopp for the majority of the season. He is an ‘N’Golo Kante-style’ midfielder who will add energy and pace to Liverpool’s midfield. We’ve all heard the incredible story of RB Leipzig over the last few years, and they too will be playing Champions League football. However, it’s very possible that the Premier League, a big club like Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp’s playing style could tempt Keita to make the change and come to Anfield this summer.

8) Riyad Mahrez

Mahrez hasn’t been the exact same player he was for Leicester last season this time around, but his quality is undoubted. If he becomes available this summer, Liverpool should certainly look at investing in him. He has bags of pace, tricks and the ability to produce something different. He could cost a fair amount if Leicester don’t want to sell, but he would definitely be worth it.

7) Romelu Lukaku

Perhaps one of the more unlikely prospects. One of the things Liverpool are lacking at the moment is a striker of true quality. Now, on his day, Daniel Sturridge is that man, but you just cannot rely on him to stay fit for an entire season. Roberto Firmino is a good player, but Liverpool are missing a true ‘main man’ in the strikers role. In days gone by, they’ve had Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, Michael Owen. But now, they need a 20+ goals per season man to seriously compete for the Premier League title and in the Champions League. Lukaku could be available in the summer if he opts to leave Everton, should Liverpool consider making a cheeky bid?

6) Virgil van Dijk

Another type of player Liverpool are missing: the commanding centre-back. Joel Matip has definitely improved Liverpool’s back line this season, but he has not perfected it by any means. Liverpool need a Jamie Carragher or John Terry figure, a leader who will organise their defence properly. Their defender at corners this season has been abysmal, and a loud, commanding figure in the box could sort that problem. He’s Southampton’s captain for a reason.

5) Douglas Costa

Another quality winger that I believe Liverpool should look to sign this summer. His world-class dribbling skills and crossing ability will provide Liverpool with the sort of outlet that Sadio Mané has for most of this season. In the Champions League, you have to have a good squad depth in order to properly compete in the competition, and Douglas Costa is certainly one of the top-class players Liverpool should be looking to bring in.

4) Alexandre Lacazette

Another talisman catching the eyes of many in Europe this season. He’s got an outstanding record, bagging a total of 35 goals in 44 appearances for Lyon this season. They might face competition from Arsenal, but the Gunners are set to miss out on Champions League qualification for the first time in over 20 years to the benefit of Jurgen Klopp’s team. Could that be the decisive selling point Liverpool could use to make Lacazette choose Merseyside over North-London?

3) Jonathan Tah

Tah is another man making a name for himself in the Bundesliga this season. He is a man-mountain, and will be a real presence at the back for the Reds if they capture him. Tah is extremely calm on the ball, happily dribbling past an attacker after winning possession, and his big frame makes him tough to beat in the air. Like Van Dijk, he is a good commanding figure that the Reds should look into signing.

2) Marco Reus

The top 2 in this list are world-class players. Starting with Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund. When fit, his quality is among the finest on offer in Europe. The signing of someone like Reus would be a massive statement from Liverpool. A warning to the rest of Europe that they mean business. It’s a very unlikely transfer, but with the financial power Liverpool are reportedly going to have this summer, and the carrot of Champions League football, the Reds should try and pull it off.

1) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang is perhaps the best direct striker in Europe. He’s lightning quick, a fantastic finisher and has worked with Klopp before. Would the German be able to pull off the signing of the summer and bring Aubameyang to Anfield? Unlikely, but the Liverpool faithful can dream.
