5. Leon Goretzka (Schalke)

One German international looks to be on the way out of Arsenal in the shape of Mesut Ozil, but the Gunners could be lining up another as a replacement. Schalke youngster Leon Goretzka is also a free agent in the summer and has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs. Goretzka could play in Ozil’s number 10 role, with his power and physical prowess suggesting that he would fit nicely in the Premier League. This is one that Arsenal should be all over given that he is available for free, but they will have plenty of competition for his signature.

4. Dries Mertens (Napoli)

Napoli’s Dries Mertens is one of the in-form players in world football right now. With 35 league goals in his last 33 matches, Europe’s top clubs have all taken an interest. He has a £25million release clause in his contract, meaning that someone is most likely going to get a bargain if he opts to leave the San Paolo. Arsenal have shown interest, and the 30 year-old would be the perfect replacement for Alexis Sanchez in the wide forward role. Belgian press reported earlier in the year that Mertens ‘dreams of a move to the Premier League’-

3. Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)

His name has been linked with Arsenal and other clubs constantly over the last few transfer windows, but Riyad Mahrez remains a Leicester City player. The 26 year-old’s stock has dropped a little since he helped inspire the Foxes to an unlikely title win in 2015/16. He may not quite have the quality of Alexis and Ozil, but he has Premier League experience and would probably not require the Gunners to break the bank, especially as he only has 18 months on his contract. It has been reported that the player is keen on a move to the Emirates.

2. Thomas Lemar (Monaco)

Arsenal were close to signing Thomas Lemar from Monaco towards the end of the summer transfer window, but in the end the deal fell through. However, they are expected to go back in for the France international when the market re-opens. Lemar is a class act on the wing and at just 22 he has plenty of room to improve still. Monaco may also now be willing to accept less than the £92million that the Gunners reportedly offered back in August now that they look to be heading out of the Champions League.

1. Julian Draxler (PSG)

Another German international who could be on his way to the Emirates is Julian Draxler. The 24 year-old is not a regular with Paris Saint-Germain, and the French club may be open to selling to improve their standing within the Financial Fair Play regulations. PSG paid £34million for Draxler in 2016, and reports state that he could be available for a similar price – a snip in the current market. A classy playmaker who can score, create and assist, he would be the dream acquistion this winter for Arsenal fans.
