Footballers who could be the first £100m transfer

Footballers who could be the first £100million transfer? Footballers who could be sold for £100million? The current world-record transfer fee was the £89million paid by Manchester United last summer for midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba moved to Old Trafford from Juventus, and has had an average first season at United. There are several players right now who are developing into superstars and could be come the world’s first £100m transfer. These players are well-established already at a young age and are wanted by teams all over Europe and the world.

We have compiled a list of these players, who could be the first £100million player. There are some players on here that are very hot property and could be in for a big move as soon as this summer, so keep an eye out!

Here is the list of footballers who could be the first £100million transfer.

10) Eden Hazard

Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer and has shown this season that his quality could justify a £100million price tag. We know that Madrid are one of the richest clubs in the world and would easily be able to afford it, could this move happen with this price tag this summer? Who knows.

9) Neymar

Manchester United broke the world record transfer fee last summer, will they do it again this summer? They’ve been linked with a massive move for Barcelona superstar Neymar, where they could better their money paid for Pogba last year. Would Neymar justify a £100million fee?

8) David De Gea

Perhaps unrealistic to expect De Gea to become the first £100million player, as a goalkeeper it is unlikely anyone would pay that much. But, De Gea’s ability is unreal, and would save any team who bought him an easy 9/10 points per season. When you’re going for the title, how priceless could those points be?

7) Marco Veratti

Veratti is considered one of the best midfielders in the world these days. He has been linked with a move away from PSG this summer but would cost a big club like Barcelona big money. It’s possible, but it’s perhaps a case where Barca would have to break the £100million barrier in order to sign him.

6) Kylian Mbappe

Mbappe has been one of the breakthrough talents of the season, making a name for himself in the Champions League. He could be on the move this summer having been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool. Many have questioned whether Jurgen Klopp would spend £100m on one player, and it is unlikely. However, Jose Mourinho has already proven that he will spend those figures, he could be in for Mbappe this summer.

5) Dele Alli

Alli has been linked to Real Madrid this summer and his quality in providing goals and assists this season for Spurs. Could he be on the way the Bernabau this summer and become the world’s first £100million player?

4) Gareth Bale

Bale held the name of ‘world’s most expensive player’ for 3 years between 2013 and 2016, costing Real Madrid £86million from Tottenham. He’s been linked with moves away from La Liga this summer, to Manchester Unite and Chelsea. Both clubs would be capable of paying the figure of £100million, could the Welshman be coming back to the UK this summer?

3) Diego Costa

Costa has not been billed to much as a potential £100million player, but as we know, he’s been linked with a move to China this summer. These Chinese clubs have so much money they can afford to over pay for players they want to buy. Costa could be on his way to Asia this summer for a HUGE fee.

2) Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang is another player who has been linked with a move away from his club this summer. PSG, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool are all interested. So the question is, who will be willing to pay the most money for him? Will anyone be willing to pay the £100million?

1) Antoine Griezmann

United are sniffing around this man this summer, and there are strong rumours that suggest that Griezmann could be the first man to cost a team £100million this summer.
