Who should’ve won it?

As we all know, Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante was crowned PFA Player of the Year for this season last week.

It was, of course, well deserved. He’s had a fantastic season for the Blues as they close in on another Premier League title. You could even argue that he could’ve won it last season playing for Leicester, where he also won the league in a fantastic campaign.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has certainly had big praise for Kante, but in the past, players as good as him have not managed to get the award they’ve deserved for fantastic seasons.

Here are 10 players who were completely robbed of getting a PFA Player of the Year award.

10) Peter Schmeichel

Schmeichel is one of the greatest players ever to play in goal in the Premier League, but unfortunately it’s a very difficult award for a goalkeeper to win.

9) Fernando Torres

He was at his best while he was at Liverpool, yet never won the player of the season award.

8) Paul Scholes

He won countless honours in England for United and yet never managed to pick up this individual honour.

7) David Beckham

One of England’s best ever players, who first burst onto the scene at Manchester United. However, he was never recognised by being given this award.

6) Gianfranco Zola

Zola was a deadly goalscorer for Chelsea in his heyday, but never received a PFA Player of the Year.

5) Nemanja Vidic

Another Manchester United star player who didn’t get the award. There were so many. This guy was a truly world-class defender.

4) Didier Drogba

Drogba was Chelsea’s main man for years after the arrival of Roman Abramovic, he won multiple FA Cup and league titles, along with gaining a Champions League medal, but he never won the PFA award for himself.

3) Patrick Viera

Arguably the greatest ever Premier League midfielder ever. But, did he win the PFA award? Nah.

2) Frank Lampard

Again, another world class centre-midfielder who has won countless domestic honours, but NEVER this award.

1) Sergio Aguero

Ok, so there still is time for Sergio Aguero to win the award technically, but the guy is one of the best strikers in the world, it’s amazing that he hasn’t yet been given the honour.
