Photo released after sponsorship deal with Hugo Boss renewed

Liverpool unveiled yesterday that they have renewed their sponsorship deal with German clothing line Hugo Boss.

It’s a deal that has run for quite a few seasons now already, and to celebrate and promote the extension, the Reds had some members of the team pose for quite possibly the weirdest team photo ever.

It draws a lot of questions, so we thought we might as well ask them.

1) Why did Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge need to share a stool?

Liverpool a pretty well-known club, just as well as Hugo Boss are a pretty well-known brand. You’d have thought that between them, they could’ve provided an extra stool so Studge and Hendo didn’t have to share, the England captain even has to hold on to Phillippe Coutinho to make sure he doesn’t fall.

2) Why is only Henderson smiling?

Did he not get the memo about looking mean and moody? Look at Sturridge, he looks like he’s ready to kill someone. You’re wearing an expensive suit there mate, enjoy it.

3) Is Simon Mignolet literally just a thin version of James Corden?

Seriously, the comparison is creepy.

3) Why the black balls?

They look like ornaments rather than real footballs, what’s the point of them?

Are they supposed to subliminally suggest cufflinks? Or the suit’s buttons? Or a cup draw?

Whatever they are, they’re weird.

4) Is Phillippe Coutinho wishing he could be literally anywhere else in the world?

‘Damn, maybe I should listen to offers from PSG…’

5) Joel Matip is huge. Like, really huge.

Look at Joel. He looks like he’s stood about 10 yards behind everyone else, yet still towers above them all. He’s just a giant.

6) Was Roberto Firmino too busy sorting his own look to participate?

Bobby loves a good new haircut and wears some weird stuff, I bet he was too busy sorting his hair to show up for this photo.

7) Why isn’t Emre Can at the front?

Emre Can’s a pretty good looking dude. He’s got the hair, the beard, the face. If you were gonna pick a guy to promote a suit, you’d pick someone like Emre. So why isn’t he at the front of this picture to show us all the lovely qualities he brings?

8) Is Loris Karius the only guy in the world that looks better in casual clothing?

Look at this German fella, so attractive yet in such casual clothing. The complete opposite of Emre Can but somehow in a good way.

9) Was this photo taken around the time Karius replaced Mignolet in the first team?

The fact that both goalkeepers are here maybe indicates that LFC chiefs thought ‘oops, Mignolet’s going to end up a benched player, best draft Karius in at the last minute!’. If we’re being honest with ourselves, 6 players here would’ve been enough…

10) Wouldn’t this photo be 100x better if Klopp was stood in the middle beaming like an idiot?

The answer to that question is simply, ‘yes’.
