Liverpool fell to a shock defeat at home to Alan Pardew’s men

Liverpool lost 2-1 to Crystal Palace at Anfield earlier today and it’s now time for SillySeason to look at the main highlights from the match.

Goals from Yannick Bolasie and Scott Dann gave the Eagles all three points, despite Philippe Coutinho levelling for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

So with Klopp suffering his first loss as Liverpool boss, here are our Five Things learnt.

1 – Bogey team

Crystal Palace are quickly becoming Liverpool’s bogey team. Palace have won 4 of the last 5 Premier League game between the two sides, with the other being the memorable 3-3 draw a few years ago.

2 – Ibe impresses again

Jordan Ibe put in another impressive performance after his match-winning goal against Rubin Kazan midweek.

3 – Coutinho back on the scoresheet

Philippe Coutinho scored for the second game running, the Red’s star has now scored as many goals in his last two appearances as he did in his last 17 under Brendan Rodgers.

4 – Palace impressive on the road

Pardew’s side continued their impressive away record at Anfield, they have now won 10 away games in 2015, only Arsenal have won more.

5 – Liverpool in need of a striker

Liverpool’s need for a striker was shown again, the side has 22 shots on goal during the game but could only muster up four on target.
