Five things learned from today’s Premier League action!

So today we saw that Jamie Vardy is a new record breaker, Watford and Bournemouth should not be written off  as they both get results and Newcastle and Villa slump to yet another defeat.

Here are Five Things that we learned from Saturday’s mouth watering ties…

5) Bournemouth are not a side that sit back and suffer defeat

The Cherries picked up a point against a Everton side that raced into a two-goal lead at half time but they took their foot off the gas and they were punished.

Eddie Howe’s men got it back to 2-2 and it looked like they were going to take a hard-earned point, until Ross Barkley scored late to make it 3-2.

However, Bournemouth did have the last laugh with Junior Stanislas scored in the 98th minute to take a point.

4) New Manager, Same problems for Aston Villa

Villa added more and more pressure on the new manager as Watford came to Villa Park on the back of a narrow defeat to Manchester United.

The score was 3-2 and it was nothing that Watford did not deserve, they showed massive composure and they took to the field showing that they were not to be taken as the joker upon the pack within the division.

3) Steve McClaren is not cutting it at Newcastle

Palace run riot against Newcastle with them beating Steve McClaren’s men 5-1.

James McArthur got two of the goals that sunk the team who now sit in the bottom three following Sunderland and there win against Stoke.

What is Mike Ashley going to do now Newcastle are in the postion that they are in. Is Steve going to be given more time? Is he going to be given a few more games to pull his act together? Or is he going to walk out?

He was doing such a good job with Derby and now he is suffering with Newcastle.

2) Leicester have what it takes

Today we saw Jamie Vardy break a record that we never saw being broken but boy did he do it.

For a non-league player to enter into the premier league and do that is something massive and congratulations to Jamie Vardy and Leicester.

They took a point from their late game against Manchester United from what looked to be another good tie. United levelled on the stroke of half time but do Leicester have what it takes to win the league.

Ranieri said this week that he is looking for the 40 point mark this season with him then going to on to win the league but have seen them this year and how strong they are and if Vardy and Mahrez keep scoring, maybe… just maybe Leicester have what it takes this season.

1) Sunderland back to back, is this the boost that they need?

Sunderland got a victory at home to Stoke. Goals from Watmore and PVA gave the Black Cats 3 points and back to back victories. Is this the boost that they need. Has Big Sam done something that is going to turn them around. Only time will tell. Sunderland today looked in control and if they do that every game then there will be no issue in them staying up.
