AC Milan are planning a January transfer swoop for Chelsea full-back, Branislav Ivanovic.

Ivanovic has six months to run on his current deal at Stamford Bridge, with no proposed offer on the horizon with the West Londoners.

The Serbian has struggled for consistent form throughout the season, having made just 19 appearances for a side who currently reside in the lower reaches of the top-flight standings.

At 31-years of age, Ivanovic is one of the old guard at the Blues, and after making 230 appearances since signing in 2008, the internationally capped defender could have to move on to find first-team football.

Alongside club stalwart, John Terry, Ivanovic may have to find a new home sooner rather than later.

And according to Italian publications, Serie A side, AC Milan, are keen to add to their defensive line, as soon as January, as they go in search of a first title for a decade.

Milan currently sit sixth in the league, but are six games unbeaten, heading into the Italian winter break.
