AC Milan have confirmed their interest in Chelsea duo Fernando Torres and Marco Van Ginkel.

The Serie A side are currently undergoing transformation at the San Siro after appointing a new manager, and also selling their star-asset, Mario Balotelli, to Liverpool in a £16million deal.

New boss, Filippo Inzaghi, is keen to replace Balotelli, with Chelsea’s Fernando Torres, who has struggled with life at Stamford Bridge ever since joining them from Liverpool in a whopping £50million deal.

Now with Diego Costa and Didier Drogba at the club, Torres’ game time under Jose Mourinho looks set to drop even further down, so a move away is the likely outcome, with Milan keen on securing a deal as quickly as possible.

As for Van Ginkel, he has failed to breakthrough at Chelsea and has spent most of his time away on loan.

Milan’s vice-president, Adriano Galliani, today confirmed his side’s interest in the Chelsea duo:

“Our goal is to take a great striker.

“Fernando Torres? He is a great striker. Let’s see if he comes or someone else. We are actively working.

“Van Ginkel? We are confident. We have made our proposal to Chelsea and are now waiting on an answer. We hope we can get him.”
