AC Milan have renewed interest in Alex Witsel after Chelsea pull out of a potential deal.
After seeing their bid of £18.5m rejected in summer, Chelsea soon became favorite to sign Witsel. The deal never materialised as Chelsea opted for Pedro instead.
With the player remaining at Zenit, the Serie A giants are thought to be channeling a loan deal for the midfielder in the winter transfer market.
Witsel is currently contracted to Zenit until 2017 where he would then be available as a free agent.
The midfielder has scored once this season against Valencia in the Champions League.
