Arsenal’s hunt for a new striker has been dealt a huge boost by the news that AC Milan are willing to sell Mario Balotelli for roughly £29million.

The Gunners have been in the market for a new striker for a while now, especially after heavily relying on Olivier Giroud for all of last season, and despite fans urging Arsene Wenger to sign one in January, the Frenchman failed to do so and left his squad heavily depleted up front.

With several big-names linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium, it now looks like it will be Balotelli who Wenger turns too, and this could be due to the influence of Puma, who sponsor both Arsenal and the Italian forward.

The 23-year-old has been told he can leave the San Siro, but only if Arsenal meet their valuation of around £29m.

Balotelli’s agent has met up with officials at Milan, and the two parties have agreed to a sale.

It’s reported that Arsenal will make Balotelli their highest-paid player, by offering him a contract of around £180k-a-week.
