Arsenal defender, Andre Santos, was today found guilty of driving at 145mph and has been handed a 12-month driving ban.

The 29-year-old Brazilian, failed to stop for police and wove from lane to lane at high speeds during rush-hour traffic. He was finally pulled over just outside Arsenal’s training ground and was arrested.

It was today that Santos pleaded guilty to driving recklessly and he has also been ordered to pay £3,600 to cover fines and costs.

In a statement given to police after his arrest, Santos said: ‘My music was on loud and I was not paying attention.

I apologise to the police and for the trouble I’ve caused.’
