The Tottenham Hotspur board have told manager Andre Villas-Boas that he has seven games to convince them that he is the right man for the job at White Hart Lane.

Serious pressure has mounted on the head of the former-Porto and Chelsea manager since their 6-0 humiliation at the Etihad Stadium a fortnight ago, but since then, they have picked up two wins and one draw, with the point coming against Manchester United.

It has been reported that Villas-Boas has held talks with the club’s board and he has told them that they should judge him at the end of December as that is when it’s most crucial to pick up points.

The fixture list during the festive period appears favourable for Spurs and Boas with five out of those seven games at being played at White Hart Lane, and only one against a top-four side, and that is Liverpool.
