FC Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta has thrown doubt over his future by rejecting a contract extension from the Catalan club.

The Spaniard’s current deal expires in 2015, but he was expected to extend that before Christmas, but it now appears that he is having second-thoughts over whether or not his future lies at the Nou Camp.

Reports are suggesting that several faces in the Barca camp are not happy that several players were lost this summer in order to sign Brazilian sensation Neymar and Iniesta may be one of those.

The likes of David Villa, Thiago Alcantara and Eric Abidal were all sold this summer to free up some wage-bill in order to sign Neymar and that may have caused some anxiety in the squad.

It hasn’t been released how much Barca offered their midfield-maestro, but it is believed that Iniesta rejected the extension because the pay was too low.
