In a bizzare twist in the battle for Ezequiel Lavezzi, the Paris Saint Germain forward admitted that Liverpool AND Tottenham could miss out on him should he act on constant thoughts of retirement.

The Argentine has found himself frustrated with the superficial nature of football, stating that once he does retire, he “will not continue in the world of sport.”

He continued with his criticism, commenting, “The worst aspect of it is the environment, everyone is powered by their own interests. It’s not all what it looks like from outside.

However, he did hand a lifeline to his suitors by revealing that one of the reasons he stays in football is to “discover new cultures.”

Lavezzi has never played in England and his desire to sample what the world has to offer could tempt him into joining a Premier League team. Reports have suggested that the proven goalscorer could be available for as little as £8m.
