Arsenal and Liverpool look set to enter a bidding war for Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino.

The 22 year old, who only signed a three year deal with the German club in March, was very productive in the Bundesliga last season, with 16 goals. He also won Bundesliga Breakthrough of the Season.

Arsenal are set to use any cash from the rumoured sale of Joel Campbell, possibly around £13M, to fund any new deals. Manager Arsene Wenger is also keeping tabs on Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

Liverpool have already had a £12M bid rejected but are still confident of signing Firmino.

Chelsea and Southampton are also monitoring the situation.
