Arsene Wenger holds talks with player’s Father

Arsenal have taken yet another step closer to securing the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka after Arsene Wenger held talks with his Father.

According to Sky Sports Germany, Wenger has held talks with Xhaka‘s Father regarding a move to Arsenal, and he’s even discussed contract terms and how much the club are willing to pay for his services.

It’s claimed the Premier League outfit are ready to offer as much as £33million for the 23-year-old, and they see him as a priority signing in the summer.

The Gunners are expected to lose Mathieu Flamini, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky at the end of the season as their contracts all expire, and Xhaka is believed to be one ideal replacement.

Arsenal Advantage

Liverpool have also been strongly linked with Xhaka, but it appears that Arsenal are firmly in control now after Wenger went the extra mile to hold talks with the player’s family.

It’s believed Arsenal will offer £33million and give the Swiss international a five-year deal worth around £120k-a-week.
