The Gunners want to agree a deal to sign the defender in summer

Arsenal have moved a step closer to signing Kostas Manolas in the summer, with reports claiming a deal has been agreed.

Roma want to keep hold of the defender and they have been hoping to tie him down to a new deal this season, with his current contract set to expire in 2019.

There has been a lot of interest in him, which has led to Roma eagerly trying to ensure his long-term future is with them.

Deal worth around £47m

However, according to WhoScored, a deal is in place to send Manolas to Arsenal when the season is over. The deal is believed to be worth around £47m and the player himself is believed to be interested in a move to the Gunners.

Roma themselves may have to reluctantly let go of the 25-year old to help follow FFP rules.

They need to sell a player in order to try and adhere to them and either Manolas or Paredes – who has been a target for Liverpool in the past – may have to make way to help the club out.

With Arsenal very interested in signing the defender and with a deal reportedly already on the table, it looks like it will be tyhe former of the two players who could be saying goodbye to Roma in summer.
