According to the Mirror, Arsenal are planning moves for Gino Peruzzi and William Carvalho. Peruzzi, who is 22, would be a younger back-up option to new signing Mathieu Debuchy, who is seen as more of a short-term prospect.
Arsene Wenger has also been linked with a move for William Carvalho, who is seen as one of the hottest young prospects in Portugal. The Gunners have reportedly already had a bid of £19m turned down, but they are expected to make an increased bid soon.
It is understood that his club Sporting Lisbon are only willing to let him leave if a club triggers his £35m release clause and Arsenal may be willing to do so, to secure the signature of the defensive midfielder.
