Arsenal have finally been given the green light to sign Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho after the Portuguese club dropped their asking price by nearly £10million.
The holding-midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool all strongly linked with launching a bid for him.
However, nothing formal has ever come out of the interest from the quartet of English clubs due to Lisbon holding out for £3om.
According to reports in Portugal, Lisbon are willing to lower their asking price though and will listen to offers just over £20m, dropping their price-tag by nearly £10m.
The new price may be deemed feasible by the four English clubs, but it’s believed that Arsenal are in the drivers seat as their hunt for a holding midfielder continues.
Morgan Schneiderlin is another option that Arsenal are looking into, as well as his Southampton team-mate, Victor Wanyama.
