Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has turned his attentions to 31-year-old Kim Kallstrom after giving up the hunt for Schalke midfielder Julian Draxler.
Speaking in his press conference today ahead of the Crystal Palace game on Sunday, Wenger confirmed that he is looking at bringing in a midfielder due to Mathieu Flamini getting suspended and Aaron Ramsey suffering a serious setback, but he also admitted that the Draxler deal is a no-go.
Reports from Russia suggested that Arsenal have got in contact with Spartak Moscow over a possible deal, but nothing formal has been released as of yet.
Wenger said he was 80% confident that business will be done today at the Emirates Stadium, but I don’t think many fans will be excited about the arrival of Kallstrom if the deal does take place.
