Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger may renew his interest in Swansea City skipper Ashley Williams this Summer, if Thomas Vermaelen chooses to depart the club.
The Welsh centre-back was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in August as The Gunners looked into defensive reinforcements, but the asking-price from the Welsh club was too high for Wenger’s liking.
However, a bid for the 29-year-old will only be made if current-club captain Vermaelen leaves the club.
The Belgium centre-back isn’t happy with the lack of first-team football at the Emirates Stadium, and with Napoli and Manchester United both interested, a move in the Summer could be on the cards, which could then see Williams move to Arsenal.
