Arsenal are set to launch a formal bid for Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper, Bernd Leno, after Arsene Wenger has lost faith in his current shot-stoppers.

Wenger made the decision to drop Szczesny after a poor display on the pitch against Southampton, which was followed by incidents off the pitch involving smoking in the showers.

Since Szczesny has been dropped, David Opsina, has been in goal and despite performing well for Arsenal, Wenger is still keen on signing a new goalkeeper according to reports.

It’s believed Wenger wants to sign the 22-year-old from Leverkusen in a deal around £25million, which would then result in the club selling Szczesny.
