According to reports in France, Arsenal are closing in on signing Newcastle United right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
The Gunners have been on the lookout for a new full-back since it was announced that Bacary Sagna was to leave the club on a free in order to join Manchester City, and despite Toulouse’s Serge Aurier strongly linked with the switch, it now looks like Arsene Wenger is set to wrap up a deal for Debuchy.
The 28-year-old, who turns 29 next month, voiced his desire to leave St James Park this Summer in order to play Champions League football, and despite Paris Saint-Germain being interested, it now looks like he is on his way to the Emirates Stadium.
French station, infosport+, broke the news recently on their official Twitter account, and it’s believed that the deal will be announced this week.
It’s believed the deal is worth around £12million.
