Arsenal Football Club are set to open talks with starlet Gedion Zelalem over a potential three-year deal, which will be the 17-year-old’s first professional contract.

The German youngster, who has been likened to Cesc Fabregas, made his first-team debut this season during the side’s impressive 4-0 victory over Coventry City, and reports are now suggesting that the midfielder will be rewarded with an official contract.

Both Zelalem and Serge Gnabry are expected to be fast-tracked into the first-team by Arsene Wenger in the next few years, with the winger already making several first-team appearances.

The 17-year-old broke a club record this season when he featured in their FA Cup game by becoming the first player born after Arsene Wenger took charge at the club.

Wenger was appointed on October 1, 1996 and Zelalem was born on January 26, 1997.
