Huge demands from Ozil and Sanchez

Arsenal stars Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are demanding to earn the same as the Premier League’s highest paid players if they are to stay beyond their current contracts at the Emirates.

Ozil is currently on £140k per week, which is £10k more than Sanchez. Both players scored at the weekend for the Gunners in their 5-1 win away at West Ham, with Sanchez bagging an impressive hattrick.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is currently the Premier League’s highest paid player, earning £290,000 a week at Old Trafford.

It’s understood by the London Evening Standard that both Arsenal stars want similar amounts to stay at the club.

In September, Sanchez was quoted by Spanish daily newspaper Sport as saying: “I have reached a level where I can compete with great players. I do not feel inferior to anybody.

“I liken my qualities to [Lionel] Messi and [Cristiano] Ronaldo. I have the same abilities as them.”
