Arsenal target £17m Midfielder

It has been reported that Arsene Wenger is very keen on Southampton’s Sadio Mane as a replacement for injured Danny Welbeck for the upcoming season.

Welbeck, who had returned from a lengthy injury earlier this year, and is now set for nine months on the sidelines due to a knee injury he sustained in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City is set to be replaced by the Southampton forward

After it was reported Welbeck would be out,  Wenger told the media he would consider a bid for another forward.

“We have to think about it,” Arsene said. “Because when a player is out for nine months, you have to consider that it’s the season. And that makes you short on the striker front.”

The Mirror also claim £17million would be enough to tempt Southampton into allowing Mane to leave for the Emirates.
