Arsenal have been given a transfer boost with the news that Olympiakos will be selling defender Kostas Manolas this Summer.

The Greek side’s strategic advisor, Christian Karembeu, has admitted that the 23-year-old centre-back will be leaving the club as interest in him is high, and it’s believed Arsenal are in pole position to land Greece international.

According to reports, Arsenal are willing to pay £8million for the defender, as Arsene Wenger continues his search for a Thomas Vermaelen replacement, and according to Karembeu, a deal will be done this Summer.

However, the strategic advisor has also revealed that Serie A champions, Juventus, are also interested and have also made an offer for he 23-year-old.

He said: “Juventus have made a good bid for Manolas. But English clubs are also in. We won’t sell for less than €10m (£8m).”
