As Arsenal look to further improve their team, they are expected to announce the signing of Newcastle right-back Mathieu Debuchy.
The Magpies will be happy to let the Frenchman go for a reported £10million following the arrival of Dutch defender Daryl Janmaat.
The 28 year-old was part of the French World Cup squad which made it as far as the quarter-finals and will replace fellow Frenchman Bacary Sagna who has joined Manchester City on a free transfer.
Boss Arsene Wenger has now returned from his media duties in Brazil to begin work on improving Arsenal’s team for next season starting with transfers and pre-season matches in America later this month.
By then, the Gunners could have wrapped up the deals of Mathieu Debuchy and Sami Khedira as they have been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates and will join Alexis Sanchez who moved last week from Barcelona for £30million.
Khedira has been heavily linked with an Arsenal move for the past two weeks and sources in Spain claim the European champions will let the German go for around £25million.
Lars Bender of Borussia Dortmund and David Ospina of Nice have also been linked with transfers so it will be a very busy time for Arsenal as they build up a squad which can really push for the title next season despite strong competition.
