Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is looking to add Bayern Leverkusen’s Lars Bender to his squad in the summer transfer window.

Lars, twin brother of Borussia Dortmund’s Sven, could be available to the Gunners for around £22 million.

The holding midfield area is somewhere Wenger is obviously trying to strengthen, as he has also been scouting Lyon’s defensive midfielder Maxime Gonalons.

There is reports that La Liga giants Barcelona have also been keeping tabs on the German international.

However, Spanish news website, Mundo Deportivo, have suggested Arsenal will take advantage of Barcelona’s transfer embargo and sign Bender themselves.

The 25-year old has scored just one goal in 24 appearances in all competitions this campaign.
