Frenchman hits back at critics

Arsene Wenger has hit back at his critics by stating he built Arsenal Football Club.

The Frenchman has been the manager for 20-years now, but in recent seasons he’s been put under severe pressure from the media and also a portion of the fans.

Despite winning back-to-back FA Cups, fans are still not happy with Wenger‘s shortcomings in the Premier League and also in the transfer window.

Defeats recently to Swansea City and Manchester United in the league have all-but ruled them out of the title-race, whilst Watford eliminated them from the FA Cup on Sunday and FC Barcelona are expected to knock them out of the Champions League this evening.

Although it looks like it will be another under-performing season for Arsenal and Wenger, he’s hit back at his critics in an astonishing way.

‘I built the club’

“I have no doubt about my huge motivation,” he said. “I built the club, and the way I did it was with hard work. I had no external resources.

“If you compare the club when I arrived and how it is today it is moved forward, and without any help from anybody.

“I am more motivated than the day I arrived, and I feel even more the pressure and the responsibility to keep this club moving forward.

“When you’re a long time somewhere you always question your motivation, but I don’t question mine. I don’t question my dedication. It is 100% and I give more time to my club than when I arrived.”

The Frenchman has one year left on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, but according to reports, he could leave earlier if he believes he’s lost the majority of the fan-base.
