Arsenal boss will make decision after season finale

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger won’t make a decision regarding Manchester City midfielder James Milner until the current campaign has been completed.

The England international is a free agent this Summer after refusing to sign a new deal at the Etihad Stadium, and with his contract expiring in June, the versatile star can move on a free.

Milner Seeks Exit

City have made a desperate last minute offer to Milner in order to try and get him to stay, but according to reports, a £135k-a-week contract has been turned down over playing time.

Milner has been a bit-part player for City since making his move from Aston Villa, and despite being offered a lucrative deal, he doesn’t want to stay at the club due to game-time.

Manuel Pellegrini has used the midfielder frequently this season, but he is still concerned about his role at the club, especially with City expected to have a busy Summer.

With his contract expiring, both Arsenal and Liverpool have been interested in signing Milner, and Wenger has been discussing whether he would be interested in signing the 29-year-old.

Wenger Comments on Interest

“29 is not old,” Wenger said.
“We have a big squad at the moment and that is not in mind at all. I make my decisions after the season.

“We are in front of a big game tomorrow and are focussed on that.”

It’s believed Liverpool are favourites to land Milner as Brendan Rodgers sees him as a Steven Gerrard replacement, but according to fresh reports this morning, the City man may be seeking a move to North London.
