Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that the club are finally ready to spend big in order to bring back the glory days to the club.

The Gunners ended their nine-year trophy drought this season after winning the FA Cup for an 11th time, and after signing a new three-year deal, Wenger has admitted that it’s time for the club to spend big and strengthen.

The Frenchman’s future was in doubt throughout the season, but after ended the season on a high, Wenger was adamant that a new deal would be signed, and he stated that throughout the season, and yesterday the club confirmed the deal.

After signing his deal, Wenger released a statement and revealed plans are in place to spend.

‘We know we have to have a successful June and July, that’s where you strengthen the team,’ said the Gunners boss.

‘It’s very important that we are good now in the next two months until the end of August, that we can give to the team some more quality and go into next season with the belief we got from [the FA Cup] win.

‘Should the fans expect a big summer? Yes, they should expect that.

‘What I can promise is that we work very hard in a market that is very, very congested with many people who have a lot of money.

‘But we have a big advantage, players want to join us and if we find the right quality I’m sure we can strengthen the team.’

With money ready to spend, an ‘Arsene Wenger wishlist’ has been revealed and on it are several names in defence, midfield and up-front.

The three defenders mentioned to replace outgoing Bacary Sagna are; Atsuto Uchida (Schalke), Callum Chambers (Southampton) and Serge Aurier (Toulouse), whilst Morgan Schneiderlin (Southampton) and Lars Bender (Bayer Leverkusen) top Wenger’s midfield wishlist.

As for strikers, Wenger is keen to add one or maybe even two strikers, and on the list are; Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid), Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich) and Loic Remy (Queens Park Rangers).

It’s believed The Gunners board are willing to spend around £100million on new faces this Summer.
