Marco Asensio targets Real Madrid stay despite transfer links to Chelsea and Manchester  United

Marco Asensio has insisted he wants to stay at Real Madrid despite persistent rumours he wants a transfer to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a host of English sides in recent weeks with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United all mooted as suitors.

Arsenal too are credited with an interest, but Asensio has moved to dismiss speculation around his future.

“I always try with everything I have left,” Asensio told Nike. “To reach the biggest club in the world where there are millions of fans and a lot of pressure was a brutal change.

“My debut was in a final. I was not nervous, I scored a goal and I won my first title. In all my debuts I’ve always been able to score goals and I have come to Madrid to stay and score many goals.”

Real will be hoping Asensio can kick on again in the next 12 months and become one of their most influential players alongside fellow attackers Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Convincing the Spanish giants to sell Asensio would come at a massive price for any club, with some outlets claiming only a world-record fee would be enough to secure the Spaniard’s signature.
