Winger given three-year extension

Manchester United have offered Ashley Young a new three-year deal at the club with an option to extend it by a further year.

The winger’s future was seemingly uncertain with United trying to lure Pedro to the club and after Memphis Depay arrived, but Louis Van Gaal has offered the 30-year-old a new three-year deal.

Young was one of United’s consistent players last season and enjoyed a rich spell of form at Old Trafford, but with new arrivals coming in, his game-time could be limited ahead of next season.

New Contract Offered

The midfielder’s current deal expires next summer, but with a three-year deal offered, which could be extended a further year, Young could remain at United until 2020.

The 30-year-old is currently on around £120k-a-week at Old Trafford and it’s believed that figure will stay the same in the new deal.

Young had been linked with a shock exit from the club, with Tottenham Hotspur and even Liverpool showing interest in him. However, this new deal, if signed, will commit the winger to The Red Devils.
