AS Monaco defender is wanted by Premier League trio

Aymen Abdennour wants to leave AS Monaco in order to join FC Barcelona.

The centre-back has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool all interested in signing the Tunisian.

A reported fee for the 25-year-old is said to be around £11.5million, but in a recent interview, Abdennour has revealed his desires to join La Liga champions Barcelona over the English trio.

According to insidefutbolthe defender’s agent has already met up with Barca officials ahead of a proposed deal, and the Tunisian international has also confirmed that he hopes he can secure a switch to the Nou Camp.

Barcelona Wanted

“My president has told me that he will let me go to a big club”, the defender told Catalan Daily Sport in an interview.

“I would go to a big club and it [Barcelona] is.

“I would like to play in the best team in the world, Barcelona, but the decision is not mine, it’s Monaco’s.

“The two clubs should discuss and find a solution that is good for everyone.”
